2015 Summer Transfer Betting Update PT 2

For Schweinsteiger himself, his odds now appear to be 50/50 that he remains at Bayern Munich or moves to Manchester United with the bookmakers literally listing both options at a 5/6 margin. He was favoured to remain at Bayern just a couple of weeks ago and it now appears that a few newspapers are beginning to claim that a deal has already been done.

Certainly Louis Van Gaal will want to get that deal done so he can move on to bringing in another high-class central midfielder and reinforcing the defence. United have recently confirmed the signing of Dutch striker Memphis Depay and it will be interesting to see what happens to Robin Van Persie, who looks increasingly likely to not have a starting role with Manchester United and there have been plenty of rumours of an impending departure to where virtually every decent Dutch international seems to wind down their career - Fenerbache or Galatsaray.

The bookmakers seem confident that Manchester United will remain Robin Van Persie’s club next season but the odds aren’t exactly super emphatic. Right now you’ll find them trading at an 11/8 listing while Galatasaray can be backed at a 13/2 margin and Fenerbache trading at 7/1.

The outside destinations for Robin Van Persie appear to be Juventus or Lazio, which each of them priced at 9/1. The interesting price is on “any MLS Club” at a 12/1 margin which provides plenty of value and would be a positive move for his family as Turkey may destabilize by the time Van Persie actually moves.

There had also been rumours that Manchester United were in the running to sign Romelu Lukaku from Everton with Roberto Martinez appearing to be willing to do deals on his young powerful striker. It looks like Wolfsburg remain the preferred destination for him though and the bookmakers have priced that down to a 10/11 margin while Manchester United to sign Lukaku this summer would reward at an interesting 3/1 price tag.

Young English striker Harry Kane has been linked with a move to Manchester United but one would have to reckon that the price tag simply wouldn’t make a great deal of sense on a player who has only had one really good season so far. It looks like the bookmakers are convinced that he’s going to remain at Tottenham Hotspur this summer as he is considered 1/10 to stay and 5/1 to leave the club for any other destination to play football.
