Perennial European bridesmaid club Arsenal are the next best-priced selection with a solid 20/1 margin being floated right now by the bookmakers. You can expect them to do a bit better in the Premier League this year than they will in Europe since the gaps in the side look to be better exposed by the more organized and fluid football you will see in Europe as opposed to the direct running of many Premier League teams.

It didn’t used to be like this for Arsene Wenger’s men as they usually under performed in the Premier League only to make really big statements in European competition as they get results. The 20/1 right now is probably well balanced enough to attract some betting volume from their fans but you reckon there probably aren’t a huge amount of neutral punters putting a cheeky tenner on the Gunners.
Those who are looking for a bit of value here though would do well to keep their eye on the price for Atletico Madrid, a side that have been going from strength to strength in Europe for quite some time. Each year they take a bigger step forward and they came close to glory last year.
You’ll find them priced at the exact same listing as Arsenal and that’s probably a much more plausible bet for the neutral punter. Juventus can be backed at a 25/1 margin and that’s not a bad wager either when you consider the type of talent that the Turin club have at their disposal. With Paul Pogba looking likely to stay at the side in through the transfer window then you can bank on them at least being able to make an impression based on their draw in the group stage.
The odds then take a big jump once we get into the category of C teams entered in the Champions League. You’ll find the likes of Valencia, Roma, Wolsburg and Benfica all trading between 50/1 to 66/1. Some surprise inclusions here also involve Bayer Leverkusen at 100/1 while French club Lyon can be backed at 125/1.
