2015/2016 Manchester United Betting Preview PT 2

There have been rumours that United were going to put together as swap deal for Sergio Ramos and his odds began to drop quickly that he would be offered in exchange for David De Gea. It now looks like all of those plans have gone a bit pair-shaped as De Gea has been included on Manchester United’s North American tour which kicks off this week.

It had looked as though the Spaniard was well on his way to Real Madrid and even had his house up for sale - his odds had dropped to somewhere around 1/10 that he would make the move to the Bernabeu but that price has tightened up considerably in the last couple of days with Real Madrid now drifting up to a 7/10 margin to have De Gea at the end of the summer transfer window.

For those who genuinely believe that he will remain at Manchester United, you are looking at a very solid 6/4 price tag that might actually tempt a fair amount of punters since the recent signings by Louis Van Gaal might have been enough to keep him around Old Trafford at least for another year. He will have the option to move in the summer for free if he doesn’t sign a new contract and he may have just been put off by the way that Real Madrid handled the departure of Iker Casillas.

This week we saw the big news that United had pulled off a double-coup by securing not only Morgan Schneiderlin (who they had been linked to for some time) but also the services of Bastian Schweinsteiger - whom many football observers had thought was going to end his career at Bayern Munich. Instead, he is moving to Old Trafford to pursue a new challenge and work alongside Louis Van Gaal once again as the two seek European glory.

There are still rumours that United continue to search for a striker and the recent chatter has been that Christian Benteke is in the mix but the bookmakers seem to favour him moving to Liverpool instead now that they are flush with cash from the overpriced Raheem Sterling transfer to Manchester City. The Aston Villa man has proven adept at scoring in the Premier League and he’s one of the reasons why the club was even able to stay up this past year.
