The semi-final action for the Men kicks off on Friday with Rafael Nadal emerging back onto the scene recently after being long odds (double digit odds) to win most of his recent tournaments over the last two years or so.
This time around it all appears to be different and he goes into his contest against Dominic Thiem as the significant betting choice to win the contest. Right now, you'll find him trading at a best price of about 3/13 with a few bookmakers while most go 1/5 at best.
Dominic Thiem himself can be backed at a hefty price of about 4/1 for the outright victory here and that would be a pretty massive statement if he was actually able to pull that off against the talented Nadal. He seems to have things stacked against him though with the bookmakers preferring a Nadal 3-0 victory here at a price of about 11/8 so even if you are thinking that Thiem can take a set off of Nadal at some point you are looking at a solid payout.
Right now, you'l find Nadal 3-1 trading at a best price of 29/10 while 3-2 to Nadal would reward at 29/4. Thiem to pull this off and win a 3-2 barn burner would reward at a price of around 10/1 depending on the bookmaker.
Stan Wawrinka is favoured to get the better of Andy Murray, but only by a sligh margin if you believe the bookmakers ahead of their Sunday face-off at Roland Garros. A few bookmakers have them both dead even at 10/11 while the majority seem to give a slim edge to Wawrinka with 13/15 over an 11/10 margin for Murray.
