2021 French Open Betting Tips

With the dramatic resignation of Roger Federer from the 2021 French Open, we have seen the betting market reshuffle significantly with one of the tournaments leading fancies leaving punters holding the bag. With current world #1 Novak Djokovic not looking as sharp earlier in this tournament it looks like this one could be one of the most open major championships in years.

Needless to say, Rafael Nadal is sitting as the betting favourite to win a tournament that he tends to specialize in. Right now, the bookmakers have him trading as low as a 4/7 price tag even though we haven’t even entered the quarter finals yet.

Djokovic is available around a 9/2 margin and he’s a solid selection to face off against Nadal in the final, but you might be able to make more money this tournament by seeing him get beat in the next round. Stefanos Tsitipas is priced just behind Djokovic around an 11/2 margin.

This obviously presents a great opportunity for punters to make some big impressions in the market with some of the longer odds selections that are available with most major bookmakers at this point.

Alexander Zverev is the next shortest-priced contender and you’ll find him available around an 8/1 or 9/1 listing with several top bookmakers. His price is only going to drop as he gets further into the competition so if you fancy him, your time is now. It’s also worth noting he could be an interesting each-way selection if he can avoid Nadal en route to the final.

Daniil Medevedev is trading as the fifth favourite and you’ll find him available around 20/1 - making him a rather premium selection if he can dispose of Nadal during one of the next two rounds. The odds then take another big jump to Matteo Berrettini who is priced around 40/1 and could be an interesting each-way shout.
