6/5 Blades Set for Premiership Axe?
Victories for Charlton and West Ham on Saturday means it's still any two from four teams who will join Watford in next year's Championship. The Hornets are now 11 points from safety and a quote of 1/250 (bet365) about them being relegated tells you all you need to know. However, fellow strugglers West Ham (who were below Watford a few weeks ago) gave themselves a glimpse of safety after a 2-0 win against Boro and are now best-priced 1/4 (William Hill) to go down. Charlton also continue to edge towards safety and now find themselves just one point behind fourth-bottom Sheffield United and level on goal difference. The Addicks are 5/6 (William Hill) to drop despite Pardew's heroics, while the Blades are a tasty 5/4 (Ladbrokes) to fall back to the second flight after a 1-0 defeat at Bolton. It's set to be an exciting finish at the foot of the Premiership and 11/2 Wigan can't consider themselves safe just yet after Saturday's defeat at The Valley. Equally, Fulham (16/1 Coral), Man City (20/1 Blue Square) and Villa (40/1 Coral) all have some work to do to ensure they don't get sucked into the dogfight.
