ADRIAN LEWIS VS SIMON WHITLOCK PREMIER LEAGUE DARTS LATEST ODDS
Either of these players could have the world of darts at their mercy if they can find a better level of consistency in their top form. For years Adrian Lewis has been billed as the successor to Phil Taylor’s throne but time after time he has disappointed when apparently being on top of his game. This year’s World Championships provided the prime example when Lewis appeared to be throwing 180’s for fun in the early stages of the tournament but was then stopped dead in his tracks by Taylor at the quarter-final stage.
Simon Whitlock has looked the more likely to be a regular challenger to ‘The Power’ but over an admittedly shorter period. Yet there have also been disappointing signs from him at various stages throughout this Premier League including defeats against Taylor and Ronnie Baxter when his doubling looked a shadow of his usual high standards. All of which makes the job of predicting tonight’s game a lot more difficult.
One trait which is common between both players is their ability to come out of the blocks with all guns blazing. Although Lewis is more renowned for it, Whitlock can be just as devastating in the opening exchanges, for that reason I think that there is a lot of value in taking on ‘The Jackpot’ in the race to 3 legs market. I don’t believe that there should be such a discrepancy in the odds on the two players here and I’ll be plumping for Whitlock at 2.3 with Betfair.
The match odds betting is a little trickier; having won a Players Championship tournament at the weekend Lewis is deservedly installed as the favourite in this match. However, the Aussie is more than capable of beating Lewis when anywhere near his best and again I think that the value lies in backing Whitlock at 2.7 with Betfair. Or perhaps the more sensible approach would be to look at the Match Odds (Draw no Bet) market where Whitlock can be backed at 2.14.
Recommended Bets;
Back Whitlock in race to 3 legs @ 2.3
Back Whitlock (Draw no Bet) @ 2.14
