AFRICAN CUP OF NATIONS 2010 LATEST BETTING UPDATE FROM BETFAIR

We had a very interesting clash today at the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and we had a very surprising draw. In the opening fixture of the day, tournament favourites Ivory Coast were held to a 0-0 score-line in an incredible encounter by the supposed tournament minnows Burkina Faso.
This has really shaken up the tournament odds and it now looks like it could be anyone’s tournament. With the dropped points by Ivory Coast opening up their group, we’ll be seeing the odds shuffling around for the group winners as well. One of the three tournament favourites was held to a draw by a team they were expected to walk all over.
At the moment, Betfair layers have Cote D’Ivoire priced at 3.7 to win the African Cup of Nations. Cameroon are trading at 5.4, their price relatively unchanged, while Ghana trade at 7.6. Nigeria are shortening in price, as are Egypt and they trade at 9.4 and 9.4 respectively.
Algeria’s price has skyrocketed thanks to their loss against another minnow side, Malawi. They are now trading at round 34.0 to win the tournament. Mali have shortened in price and now trade at around 21.0 while Angola are holding firm at 23.0. Tunisia are competitive at 22.0.
Ghana are now considered favourites to win Group B ahead of Ivory Coast with a 1.51 listing to go through as group winner- that’s a drop from 3.0 before the Ivory Coast match. We have also seen Didier Drogba drop from his position as favourite for top tournament goalscorer. He is now trading at 6.0 while Flavio Amado is considered the strong favourite at 4.1. Samuel Eto’o trades at 4.7 while Frederic Kanoute can be backed at 9.2. Should Mali get a lengthy run in the contest, Kanoute could be your man.
We’ll be previewing the odds for tomorrow’s match-ups in further depth today, but for right now, we’ll leave you with the accumulator specials for Tuesday’s African Cup of Nations fixtures. Mozambique take on Benin while Egypt take on Nigeria in a very juicy clash. The shortest-priced selection is Nigeria/Benin at 5.9 while Egypt/Benin trades at 7.2.
