AMIR KHAN VS DMITRIY SALITA LAST MINUTE BETTING TIPS
We've just a short time away from the Khan vs Salita bout and, for some of you, the fight may even be happening while you're reading this. Hopefully you're watching on PPV, or you're in the pub scanning your mobile while watching the events unfold. You certainly wouldn't be watching it online from a dodgy website riddled with broken english and chinese software applications, would you?
That's not the issue though, the business at hand is live betting on this bout. Ladbrokes is offering up live betting as are Bet365 and several other top bookmakers. Ladbrokes will likely have some rollicking live betting going on in this one and I can certainly see an early KO here for Khan.
He's been training hard and he knows how important this fight is for his career, I think he's going to come out quickly and maybe try to end this one in the first round to make a statement. That would likely raise his asking price for his next defense and his management are a savvy bunch.
A first round KO victory for Khan pays 19.0 at Ladbrokes and he's 15.0 in the 2nd and 3rd. We're already seeing a price drop on a Khan KO, TKO or DQ victory and even Ladbrokes have had to clip their price on that from 1.66 to 1.61 in just the past hour or so. The cuts are even more noticable on many others sites.
You'll be able to bet on the outright result throughout the fight and likely some of the group round betting. Certainly the over/under will be available and you'll see the odds stay more or less the same until about the 4th round of so when (unless it looks be noticably one-sided) when the odds on a decision will start to drop progressively with each round that ticks by.
Even if you're betting live, you need to remember that Khan will either end this early (within the first 4-5) or end it quite late. Salita's record is undefeated for a reason- he's a quality fighter, but Khan is too big of a step up in class for him at this point in his career. Place your early bets on Khan to end it quickly, and then use the in-play wagering to hedge your bets for a later round victory.
Hopefully it lives up to the billing and is a great all-around fight. It could be one-sided, it could be quite even, but the odds and the betting public seem to be in agreement that Khan is going for this one quickly. Perhaps he could wind up as the featured match on the undercard of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight in March and I think that may be in the back of Amir's mind.
