AMIR KHAN VS PAULIE MALIGNAGGI LATEST ODDS AND PREDICTIONS
We’re just a few days away from the widely-anticipated bout between Bolton’s Amir Khan and Brooklyn-based Paulie Malignaggi. Malignaggi definitely boasts a home-court advantage since the fight is happening at Madison Square Garden on Sunday morning at 02:00 UK Time.
There has been a lot of verbal back-and-forth between the two pugilists with Malignaggi doing the bulk of the jawing. Despite the American fighters proclamations that he is the superior fighter, Khan is a massive 1.16 favourite while Malignaggi trades at a lengthy 4.5 price tag. The draw is listed at 34.0 and that never happens so steer clear of that betting selection.
The fight is favoured to go the distance, which I actually find a bit surprising as the majority of Khan’s fights don’t last particularly long. I will never forget Khan’s fight (if that’s the word you want to use) against Dmitriy Salita which was more-or-less one of the biggest hidings I’ve ever seen since I’ve been following the sport. It wasn’t just a lucky punch, it was a complete and total takedown.
Should the fight end before the final bell rings, you’re looking at a solid 2.2 payout with the fight going the distance trading at 1.61. Needless to say, Khan is favoured to win via decision or technical decision at an even-money price. Amir Khan to win by KO or TKO pays out at 2.5.
Should Malignaggi pull off the upset victory, he’s favoured to do it by decision as well. He is priced at 6.5 while a KO or TKO victory rewards at 13.0.
In regards to the round betting, Khan is favoured to win in the 7th and 8th rounds where he carries his shortest price- 15.0. He is 17.0 in rounds 6 and 9 while he trades at 19.0 for rounds 10 and 5. An 11th round victory pays out at 21.0 while the fourth round is priced the same. A 12th round KO pays out at 26.0- the same price as a second round win. A first round victory pays a 29.0 margin and would be quite a story, to say the least.
Paulie Malignaggi pays out at 101.0 to win the match in every single round except the first one- where he rises to a 126.0 price.
Grouped round betting is also available.
Personally, I think it’s hard to see beyond Amir Khan here. His 1st round loss to Breidis Prescott seems like ages ago and with Freddy Roach in his corner I expect him to have a perfect game plan to tackle Malignaggi. While Khan did go the distance with Andreas Kotelnik, I think Malignaggi will try to go for it here and that may be his undoing. I will be taking Khan by KO in the 6th round.
