ANDY MURRAY VS JUAN CARLOS FERRERO WIMBLEDON BETTING TIPS
After overcoming a very tough match against Stanislas Warinka, Scotland's Andy Murray steps up to battle it out against Juan Carlos Ferrero in a widely-anticipated quarter-final showdown at Wimbledon. Popular UK bookmaker Ladbrokes has installed Murray as the 1/12 favourite- a considerably tight margin considering he played five sets just a day ago. Ferrero is priced at 6/1 and you'll do well to find some value in the outright market, there is more action in the other 30+ markets being offered by Ladbrokes. Murray is odds-on to win in straight sets, which is a bit of a stretch for me at this stage of the competition. I think Murray 3-1 is a more solid option and sits at 5/2 with Murray winning another 3-2 battle listed at a 9/1 price. Should Ferrero triumph in straight sets, you're looking at a hefty 25/1 payout with Ferrero 3-1 at 16/1 and Ferrero 3-2 listed at the same price. The handicap has been set at Murray -6.5 at evens with Ferrero at +6.5 with an 8/11 pricetag. Murray is also 1/7 to win the first set. He is favoured to win by either a 6-3 margin or a 6-4 margin- both prices are 7/2. 6-1 and 7-5 are both priced at 10/1 with Murray 7-6 at 5/1. You can bet on a myriad of other selections like who will be the first player to issue a challenge, how Murray or Ferrero will score in their 1st service game, total games odds/even, total games over/under and literally dozens more. I'm backing Andy Murray to take the victory here, but it won't be an easy battle. I still think he has a great chance of winning this tournament, but he'll need to be at his best over the next week to get that elusive first major, on home soil no less.
