ANDY MURRAY VS MARIN CILIC 2010 AUSTRALIAN OPEN SEMI FINAL TIPS

This could be the set-up for one of the most pivotal matches in Andy Murray's young, but increasingly accomplished career. Ranked fifth, and facing off against the fourteenth seed, Murray enters the match as a distinct favourite according to popular UK bookmaker Ladbrokes. In situations like these, prices can be deflated a bit to compensate for large amounts of patriotic betting volume. 
Andy Murray's odds to win are listed at 1/5 against Cilic's 10/3 odds. Murray is a heavy favourite and if you're looking to get a solid payout on this one and don't like backing somebody with odds that short, no matter how favoured they are, you're going to have to venture into the set betting if you're looking for the value plays. Murray to win in straight sets trades at even money, but I don't see that. I think a 3-1 or even a 3-2 victory is more likely and you'll find those options prices at 12/5 and 11/2, respectively. 
Marin Cilic is 14/1 to win in straight sets while a 3-1 win pays a solid 10/1 and the tie-break victory garners a 9/1 price. 
In terms of the handicap betting, Murray is (-4.5) games at a 4/5 price while Cilic (+4.5) trades at 11/10. If you think this one could be very close, you could do well to put an insurance bet on Cilic with that price.

To me, I think Murray could really be on the verge of a gigantic accomplishment. He doesn't want to get to another big final and lose to Roger Federer, he wants that elusive first major championship and I think he has a very good chance of it if he keeps his momentum going. He'll have to get through Marin Cilic first and I fancy Murray to go through 3-1.
