ARSENAL ODDS SLASHED TO WIN 2010 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
After dethroning Chelsea as the Premiership’s leader for the first time in several months, Arsenal have seen their price to win the 2009/10 Premier League slashed as punters begin piling on to take advantage of Arsenal’s recent run of excellent form. It is a real telling event about the personality and tactical acumen of manager Arsene Wenger as the Gunners were 11 points off the Blues in late November after being beaten at home 3-0.
Chelsea are still considered the odds-on favourite to win this year’s edition of the English Premiership at a 4/5 price with William Hill. Arsenal are now trading alongside Manchester United at 3/1 to win this year’s English Premiership and it looks to be a 3 horse race at the moment.
The odds take a big jump to 25/1 for Manchester City to win this year’s edition of the Premiership and that shows just how significantly they are favoured to land 4th place and a Champions League spot for next year. Liverpool are a lengthy 66/1 to win the Premiership this year. Aston Villa and Tottenham Hotspur trade at 125/1 to pull off a dramatic Premiership title.
William Hill is offering up 1/3 odds on places 1 and 2, so if you think City will finish 2nd, you’re in for a tidy pay-day.
Despite this recent run of optimism, Arsenal remain odds-on to end the season without a trophy. William Hill has listed them at 2/5 to finish the season empty handed. Should they win the Premiership and the FA Cup together, you’re looking at a 14/1 payout. A Premier League and Champions League double (what an achievement that would be!) pays out at 20/1 while an FA Cup and Champions League victory pays 28/1. Should Arsenal pull off the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League treble, you’re looking at an 80/1 price.
