ARSENAL VS BURNLEY PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
Maturity is measured in different ways in different cultures; by some maturity is reached when you get a job or get married, in Judaism it is the occasion of becoming a Bar Mitzvah and at Arsenal it is how you react to a team mate suffering a terrible injury.
Before I say anything else I would like to wish Aaron Ramsey the best of luck in his recovery and say that I do not for one second condone the type of rash challenge which led to the injury. However, the way in which Arsene Wenger, Cesc Fabregas and the rest of the Arsenal staff have reacted to the situation is a little over the top, although entirely predictable. Those who didn’t see the tackle could be forgiven for thinking that somebody had died in the incident and the post-match interviews would have been more appropriate at a wake than in a football stadium. Tony Pullis was even provoked into uttering words usually saved for the deceased – “Our thoughts are with him and his family.”
Reports of Arsenal donning black arm-bands for this game in respect of Ramsey are as yet unfounded but I am fully expecting to see a vest to be revealed in dedication to the youngster if and when Arsenal score. ‘When’ being the operative word here because given Burnley’s away form and Arsenal’s near 80% win record against bottom half teams it is impossible to see anything other than a home win. And given that it is 1.16 (2/13) on Betfair for an Arsenal win it appears that punters aren’t giving Burnley much chance either. I’m not in the business of backing teams at 1.16 but for those of you who are I’d suggest that this is as close to a certainty as you are likely to get and it is certainly better than the current Bank of England interest rate.
Surely the question here is how many? ‘Any Unquoted’ (i.e. Arsenal to score four goals) is a paltry 2.9 (15/8) in the correct score market but the only way I could advocate laying at that price would be if you are intending to trade in-play. It is certainly a better price than the 2.1 (11/10) which is available on over 3.5 goals and is essentially the same bet as ‘Any Unquoted’, unless you think Burnley will get on the score sheet – something they have failed to do in six of their last seven away league games. Based on that statistic I’d have to suggest that backing an Arsenal clean sheet at 1.75 (8/11) is the best bet of the match.
This should be a walk in the park for Arsenal which will keep their title challenge firmly on track. No doubt that Wenger will allude to his side’s new found maturity being the reason for their proximity to the top of the table but he would do well to take a reality check every once in a while and he may just gain a little more respect.
