ARSENAL VS WEST BROM CARLING CUP BETTING TIPS
Arsenal are big favourites to get the job done at the Emirates as they tackle West Brom in today's match-up. The Gunners did well at the weekend and will be very confident heading into this one with their 2/5 price. West Brom are listed at a lengthy 7/1 while the draw pays out at 7/2. If Arsene deploys some of his more senior players, you really can't go anywhere but Arsenal unless you're looking to bet exclusively in-play. Arsenal are 10/11 to win both halves, better value than the outright odds and I definitely do fancy them to score early. The only issue here for me is just how many children Arsene Wenger is going to deploy in this fixture. If I see a few bigger names on the sheet then we should be able to get a decent result with a decent margin. If Arsenal deploy just the junior squad, then I think West Brom have enough to maybe pull off a shock victory. The first goal is crucial here because if West Brom score first, they will try to set up shop. The lowest-priced correct score call is 2-0 Arsenal at 5/1 while a 1-0 win pays out at 11/2. 2-1 pays 13/2 while a 3-1 win pays out at 10/1. A 1-1 draw pays 8/1 while a 1-0 win for West brom pays out at 11/1. Under 3 goals pays out at 2.025 at Bet365 and that's a solid bet. More than 3 goals is 1.825 but I really can't see this one being a match with a huge total. In terms of the goalscorer markets, Eduardo, Nicklas Bendtner and Robin Van Persie are all the favoured goalscorers at 11/10 anytime and 4/1 first or last. That's a tough call to make, in my opinion. Andrey Arshavin, should he start the match, garners a 7/5 anytime price with a 5/1 first/last listing. One player who I know will get a run out today is Jack Wilshere, and he's 3/1 anytime and 10/1 first or last. Aaron Ramsey is at 4/1 anytime and 14/1 first or last. Keep your eye, as always, on Thomas Vermaelen who can definitely score them from set pieces. This is a battle of the team sheets for me and if Arsenal deploy enough senior players to steady the reserve side many of us expect, I can't see West Brom troubling the Gunners.
