ASAMOAH GYAN ODDS LISTED AT 12/5 TO SCORE ON DEBUT FOR SUNDERLAND
Ghana forward Asamoah Gyan wound up being one of the biggest non-Van-Der-Vaart-related stories of the 2010 Transfer Deadline and the bookmakers have already released a slate of odds related to the Black Cats latest acquisition. Asamoah Gyan was secured for a very large £13.1m price tag which makes him a club record signing for Sunderland.
Popular bookmaker Skybet has priced Asamoah Gyan's over/under on goals scored this season at a rather respectable 7.5. Each selection is paying out at 5/6 and I would be tempted to take the over here as I suspect he'll form a solid tandem with pacey hitman Darren Bent. If he can stay healthy I think it's a very plausible outcome.
Gyan's odds to score on his debut are currently priced at a 12/5 margin and that's not a bad selection, except that you would want to wait and see if he gets a starting spot as usually a player will make their debut off the bench. 12/5 for a debut goal from a full 90 minutes away against Wigan on September 11th.
If you fancy Asamoah Gyan to dominate the match, then by all means you should back him for the double at a hefty 14/1 price tag. He's listed at 80/1 to score a hat-trick on his debut (could you imagine the stories then?) and he's 5/1 to be booked on his debut.
If you think Asamoah Gyan will pull a Joe Cole and get sent off on his debut, you can lock in a solid 40/1 price.
It should also be noted that Asamoah Gyan can be backed at a lengthy 80/1 to be named the PFA Player of the Year for 2010/11.
