ASHES 3RD TEST AT EDGBASTON LATEST BETTING TIPS

We're well into the final session of Day 2 at the 2nd test of the 2009 NPower Ashes Series and England have taken a bagful of wickets and are now looking to put the Aussies to the sword. We've seen the odds fluctuate significantly today and, while the draw is still the favoured result, England are slowly gaining the upper hand. Stanjames.com has the draw priced at 1.53, at the time of this writing. England are an enticing 3.5 for the win and the Aussies have shot up to 6.5. This one looks beyond Ricky Ponting's men and, barring a mid-order collapse from the English, it looks as though the Baggy Green could be trying to play for a draw when they know they should be looking for a win to get the series even once again. In the first innings, Ben Hilfenhaus is favoured to be the leading wicket taker at a 2.5 price. Siddle, who dismissed Alistair Cook for a duck, is just a step behind at 3.0. Mitchell Johnson looks a bit more together in this test and he's listed at 5.5 with Nahan Hauritz at 6.5 and Shane Watson sitting at 11.0.It will be hard to match the precision and technique we saw on day 2 from James Anderson, who took an innings five-for. And what a morning from Graham Onions! He speaks to the quality on display in England's county league. In-running, England's top batsman looks to be Andrew Strauss at 1.4 with Ian Bell listed at 4.5. Paul Collingwood is available at 11.0 while Matt Prior is a very enticing 13.0. I like Prior's ability with the bat and with England looking to put up a big total before a declaration, we will likely see the best of Matty. Flintoff is at 21.0 whiel Broad and Swann are tied at 51.0. I think if England can keep their feet on the gas pedal today and tomorrow, we'll be looking for a total of 400+ and then a declaration. If England's bowers have 4 good sessions, we'll bowl the Aussies out and should be able to chase down anything they put on the board. I say push for the win on this one. Strauss' boys look in good form and you know that Edgbaston will be rollicking on Day 5 when England are at the crease. While I may not want to sound extremely overconfident, It's also looking like a excellent time to back England to win the Ashes.
