ATLETICO MADRID VS LIVERPOOL 2010 EUROPA LEAGUE SEMI FINAL BETTING TIPS

Liverpool are looking to make a big statement here after enduring a marathon trip to Spain over the past few days. Rafa Benitez emphasized the importance of an away goal to tilt the tie back into the Reds favour. They'll have to do it without Fernando Torres and that means we need another immense performance from Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard. 

The bookies are giving the edge to the Spanish hosts, pricing them at odds of 2.3 to take the victory in the 1st leg. Liverpool reward at 3.0 while the draw pays out at 3.2. I think it is telling that Liverpool are considered heavy favourites to progress to the final though. Ladbrokes has listed them at 1.5 while Atletico Madrid are priced at 2.5 to make the 2010 Europa League final. 
It doesn't appear as though the bookies expect a high-scoring affair, and you'll find that the lowest-priced correct score option is either 1-0 to Atletico or a 1-1 draw. Both options pay out at 6.5. You'll find that Liverpool 1-0 isn't far behind- it trades at 7.0. 
2-1 to Atletico Madrid rewards at 10.0 while Liverpool are just a shade behind to win 2-1 with an 11.0 price- that's a result that would put Liverpool firmly in the drivers seat heading back to Anfield to play in front of the Kop. 
Atletico Madrid's Diego Forlan is considered the favourite goalscorer in the match with a price of 2.1 to score at anytime. Steven Gerrard knows that he needs a big performance and he is the second favourite to get a goal today with a 2.5 price tag. Jose  Manuel Jurado is listed at 2.75 alongside Dirk Kuyt. Both of those players are solid bets to score. David Ngog is at 3.25 with Eduardo Salvio. 
If you're looking for an outside anytime goalscorer bet for Liverpool- try Lucas at a solid 10.0- thats a decent shout if he starts. 
Liverpool are at 2.87 to keep a clean sheet while Atletico trades at 2.5. Liverpool are priced at 4.5 to win to nil while Atletico Madrid trade at 4.0. 
I think this one comes down to Liverpool being able to dominate the midfield and not give up too many set-pieces around the edge of the area. I do think Liverpool will score and if they play a proper match, then I don't think there's any reason they can't be heading back to Anfield holding most of the cards. If you like Liverpool but are looking to play it safe- try them on a draw no bet at 2.1.
