ATP US OPEN LIVE BETTING VERDASCO, FERRER AND NADAL IN ACTION

Spaniards Fernando Verdasco and David Ferrer are currently battling for a spot in the US Open Last 16 against David Nalbandian and David Gimeno-Traver, respectively.
William Hill Live Betting markets are in full swing as Verdasco and Ferrer are up a set on their opponents, and potentially, could be headed for a clash in the fourth round.
The billing between Verdasco and Nalbandian is the all-star third round matchup and, arguably, the more compelling of the day session. Everything about this matchup suggests a slugfest to the finish – a nerve-wracking five-set affair where the winner is a complete tossup.
Verdasco stormed to a 6-2 lead in the first set, looking comfortable all the while. As a result, Verdasco slightly edged Nalbandian in the live betting markets at the head of the second set.
But comeback contender Nalbandian is too good to go away meekly. In fact, as I write, the Argentine wrapped up the second set on a break of serve and he now levels the match at 1-1.
Both players are equally priced at 10/11 to break ahead in the third set. Knowing how streaky the feisty Spaniard can be, and how energy driven Nalbandian can be, these prices are sure to swing like a pendulum back and forth as momentum changes hands.
Verdasco has the 1-0 lifetime edge over Nalbandian, having beaten the Argentine at the 2006 Wimbledon Championships in straight sets.
The mark, however, is dated, going back to 2006. Indeed, it isn’t representative. This is a new match entirely.
Meanwhile, Ferrer is having a much easier time of it. After taking the first set in the tiebreak he’s cruising to the finish line without much resistance. To all intents and purposes, it appears he’ll be waiting for the winner of the Nalbandian vs. Verdasco clash in the last 16.
Incidentally, these matches are all contained within Nadal’s quarter of the draw and any of these players can potentially advance to the final eight to challenge Nadal; of course, this presupposes the fact that Nadal will navigate a successful course through his section.
Nadal is scheduled to take Arthur Ashe Stadium later this afternoon for his third round clash against Gilles Simon. Nadal leads the head-to-head series 3-1 and goes into his clash a confident 1/12 bet over Simon, tipped at 6/1, to win outright.
