AUSSIE OPEN QUARTERS BET IN PLAY: ROGER FEDERER VS NIKOLAY DAVYDENKO
The quarterfinal clash between Roger Federer and Nikolay Davydenko, anticipated by tennis enthusiasts and pundits alike, way back when the 2010 Aussie Open draw was revealed to contain both players in the same quarter, is currently underway and is taking Live Bet in Play action.
Roger Federer entered this match owning Davydenko 12-2 lifetime; whereas Davydenko owned the recent edge over Federer, comprised of back-to-back wins over the world No.1 –a victory at the ATP Barclay’s World Tour Finals semis and another at the Doha semis early this year.
Because of Nikita’s recent positive trend over the maestro there was a nervous trepidation in the marketplace ahead of this match. Some entertained the possibility that Davydenko just might beat Federer on the biggest stage yet, a Grand Slam stage. Should Davydenko do so it would be the biggest upset of the decade and would end Fed’s record run of 22-consecutive semi-final (or better) appearances at a Grand Slam stage.
Realists though are of a different mindset. This is F-E-D-E-R-E-R after all – only the player considered the greatest of all time (GOAT) to grace the sport. Heck, it was not luck that saw him lift 15 Grand Slam trophies. Surely, skill, talent and an otherworldly gift factored in there, somewhere. No way is F-E-D-E-R-E-R going to lose, so they say.
You decide. Betting on a live match is an innovative method of bringing the match to you. It is almost as exciting, if not more so, as sitting front and centre in Rod Laver Arena.
So what can tennis bettors bet on during the match? A whole slew of options are just a mouse click away. is offering odds on the next game winner to the next game score betting. As well as current set betting and current set score to next set winner.
At the time of writing: Davydenko and Federer are 1-1 on sets. Davydenko won the first set 6-2 while Federer took the second set 6-3. With the match levelled there is still a lot of betting to be had. Certainly, we are going to four sets and maybe even five sets.
Prices are moving quickly to win set 3, so get in on the action. Federer is trading at a whopping 1/50 but this price will surely see an uptick if Federer begins to dominate, which he really should. Davydenko carries a price of 14/1, which, most likely, will move to the wrong side of long shot if the set starts to slip away. Of course, he might turn things around. Watch this space....
To win set 4, Federer is a reasonable 4/11 while Davydenko is trading at 12/1 but moving quickly. Federer to win 3-1 is trading at 1/3 while to win 3-2 is trading at 4/1. Davydenko is currently listed at a hallucinatory 100/1 to win 3-1 (crazy, I know) and a more reasonable 13/2 to win 3-2.
