Australia PGA : Winner

The lead of the Australian PGA Championship is held by James Nitties after he added a 65 to go with an opening 67 on the Hyatt Regency Coolum course. The 22 year old is yet to have a bogey in what is only his fourth start as a professional and currently sits on twelve under par. His one shot lead may be slender but the New South Wales resident is full of confidence and can be backed at 10/1 to hold on to the lead for the duration of the event.Bob Estes laboured slightly to a 70 after equalling the course record of 63 on Day One. The American sits just one shot back from Nitties though, and has been priced at a best of 4/1. One shot further adrift is the winner of last week's Australian Open, Peter Lonard and he is now favourite for the title, at 11/4.It was a better day for our selection Rod Pampling who sits on four under par after a 68, the same total as Greg Norman. One of the main stories to emerge from the round involved pre tournament favourite Adam Scott, who missed the cut by one stroke after failing to hole a three foot putt on the 18th green. On the European Tour, Miguel Angel Jimenez has taken charge of the Omega Hong Kong Open and is now Evens for the title. The Spaniard produced a round of 64 to sit alongside his 65 from Thursday and is two ahead of his Ryder Cup team mate David Howell who is on nine under par. 10/3 can be found for Howell whilst pre tournament favourite Padraig Harrington remains very much in the hunt on -7 and can be supported at no better than 13/2.
