Australia vs South Africa ODI Betting Tips
The Proteas are looking to secure a 4-1 ODI series victory over the beleaguered Australians and even though they're not the favourites (and are blooding a few new faces during the match) I am still confident that the Saffers will pull off the victory. Listed at 13/8 compared to Australia's 4/9, I still think South Africa are excellent value and will pull off the win- a virtual certainty if the Aussies choose to bat first. If you're looking to back highest runscorer, you've got a lot of competition from the big-swinging Saffers. Herschel Gibbs, AB de Villiers, Jacques Kallis and Hashim Amla are all listed at 4/1 making this a slightly tough call, but I'm willing to back de Villiers if I really had to choose between the four of them. Ricky Ponting (3/1) leads the runscorer market for the Aussies with Michael Hussey (4/1) just behind him. Ponting can sometimes shoulder the entire load for the squad, but he can also be taken down really quickly on occasion and I just find he's been inconsistent during this series. I would back Hussey if somebody had a gun to my head, but otherwise I'm staying away from this market. The Aussies are a bit all-over-the-place and you never know which team is showing up. One thing that I will definitely back the Aussies on is the Most Sixes market. They lead at 2/3 compared to South Africa's 11/10. I don't think the Proteas will have to swing for the fences too much and the Aussies will be under pressure to put runs on the board.
