Australian PGA Championship
Queenslander Adam Scott is VC Bet's heaviest liability ahead of this week's Australian PGA Championship. Scott's opening quote of 7/1 was quickly gobbled up by punters who fancy the golden boy of Aussie golf's chances around the Hyatt Regency Coolum course. "We saw some lumpy action about Scott at 7s earlier this week but our new price of 5/1 has stemmed the flow," said VC Bet's Glen Hyslop. Rodney Pampling is another player the firm's golf department will be following closely after his liabilities rocketed into red figures. "We were 16s about Pampling but we've now cut that to 12/1. He's is cracking form at the moment and might have won last week with a little more luck." Stephen Leaney and Bob Estes are VC Bet's other two best backed players. Elsewhere, Lee Westwood is the man VC Bet say they want to avoid laying at this week's mega money Nedbank Challenge in Sun City. Accordingly the 31-year-old is quoted at an industry-low 10/1 with the firm. "It's always hard to look beyond the South African duo of Ernie Els and Retief Goosen here but Westwood could well be the man to do it," said VC Bet golf compiler Glen Hyslop. "I've seen 12s and that looks a handy price about a player who is in decent nick and has shown good course form at Sun City."
