BARCELONA VS ARSENAL 2ND LEG 2010 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BETTING TIPS
Barcelona are definitely in the drivers seat for today's big Champions League clash, but you get the feeling that they're going to be looking over their shoulders, wary that they didn't kill Arsenal off in the 1st leg when it looked like Barca would likely run up a double-digit tally. Instead, Arsene Wenger's men have several possible outcomes that would effectively win them the match- not the least of them being a miniscule 1-0 result. That may sound like wishful thinking to some, but I reckon there's a bit of magic left in this year's Champions League.
Top UK bookmaker William Hill have listed Barcelona as the 1/3 favourites to win the match while Arsenal trade at 6/1 for the unlikely victory. The draw is paying out at 10/3 and a 2-2 draw or greater would be enough to see Arsenal through.
If you take a closer look at the correct score market, you'll notice that the results that Arsenal need to get through all pay out at a fairly solid margin, with the lowest-priced outcome being either the 2-2 draw to force extra time or the 1-0 win for Arsenal which see them through to the quarter-finals. Both outcomes pay a 16/1 margin. 2-1 to Arsenal would be enough and thats listed at 18/1. A 3-2 result pays out at 40/1.
Barcelona are favoured to win the match either 2-0 or 2-1, with both outcomes listed at 7/1. Barcelona to win 3-0 pays 15/2 while a 1-0 result rewards at the same price. A 3-2 victory for Barca would reward at 18/1. For a bit of perspective, 4-0 or 4-1 to the Catalan Club pays a mere 14/1.
William Hill has got a very solid promo set for this fixture- if you stake £20 on the half-time/full-time market, you'll get a free £10 bet for the first goalscorer market. This promo is for new and existing customers so if you've been with Hills for years you're good to go or you can also cash in a first-deposit bonus and then take advantage of this offer on top of it. It's really that simple.
The lowest-priced outcome is Barcelona/Barcelona at 17/20 while draw/Barcelona pays out at 17/5. Draw/Arsenal, in comparison, pays out at 14/1. Barcelona/Arsenal is the big payout with a 40/1 price tag.
Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are both odds-on to score with 8/13 and 4/5 prices. Thierry Henry and Bojan are at 6/5 and 5/4 anytime. Andres Iniesta and Xavi are commanding 10/3 and 4/1 listings.
Nicklas Bendtner looks to be the go-to-guy for Arsenal at 11/4 with Eduardo at 10/3. Carlos Vela is listed at 7/2, while Theo Walcott can be backed at 4/1. Samir Nasri is my key-player and he's trading at 11/2 anytime.
