BARCELONA VS ARSENAL LAST MINUTE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TIPS AND STARTING LINE-UPS
We’re less than an hour away from kick-off in today’s massive fixture between FC Barcelona and Arsenal. The tie is now at 2-2 after an astonished second half where Arsenal clawed their way back into the draw. They have it all to do today and the odds are certainly stacked against them- but that just means that Arsenal fans are the ones poised for the biggest payday if the Gunners can pull off what would be a legendary victory.
Thierry Henry will not start today with Bojan getting the nod ahead of the former Arsenal superstar. Theo Walcott gets the start, deservedly, after helping Arsenal pull off what was basically a smash-and-grab raid at their own ground to keep the tie alive. Here are the starting line ups for Barca vs Arsenal:
Barcelona: Valdes, Dani Alves, Marquez, Milito, Abidal, Busquets, Xavi, Keita, Pedro, Bojan, Messi.Subs: Pinto, Iniesta, Henry, Maxwell, Toure Yaya, Fontas, Jeffren.
Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Vermaelen, Silvestre, Clichy, Denilson, Diaby, Walcott, Nasri, Rosicky, Bendtner.Subs: Fabianski, Eduardo, Eboue, Traore, Campbell, Merida, Eastmond.
The odds have been fluctuating a bit for most of the day, but the outright betting has placed Barcelona as firm 1.33 favourites to win this match and progress to the next stage. Currently, Ladbrokes are claiming that they are offering the best price on Arsenal to win the match- with an 8.0 listing in favour of the Gunners. The draw pays 5.0 and, with a high-scoring game set to unfold, this could be a popular selection with the English fans.
In regards to outright qualification, Barca are priced at a miniscule 1.12 while Arsenal trade at a lengthy 5.5. That price will likely be cut in half if Arsenal score early in the match- something that I expect Wenger’s men to be planning for.
If you think Arsenal will force extra time, you’re looking at some outstanding odds. Should Barca pull off an extra-time victory- you’ve got a 29.0 payout. Barcelona on penalties is priced at 51.0 while Arsenal trade at 67.0 to win by extra time or penalties. If Barcelona are leading at half-time but don’t win the match you’re looking at a 13.0 payday.
A red card at any point pays out at 3.25 and a penalty is priced at 3.0 to be scored. That penalty is 10.0 to be missed. An own goal pays out at 7.0 and, since I expect a few goal-line scrambles, that could be a very wise bet.
