BARCELONA VS STUTTGART 2ND LEG CHAMPIONS LEAGUE BETTING TIPS

In football you can’t dwell on missed opportunities for too long but Stuttgart’s failure to finish the first leg of this tie in front may be something that haunts them for a long time yet. Had they won they could have gone to the Nou Camp with a completely different game plan to the one which they must employ tonight and as a result had a much greater opportunity of progressing to the next round.

The German side must go all out for the win in Barcelona and that will play straight into the hands of the Catalan giants. Barca have won 12 out of 13 home games in La Liga this season and although they have been knocked off the top of the Spanish league by goal difference they look to be hitting top form at a crucial stage of the season.
Lionel Messi has scored six goals since the last time these two sides met including a hat-trick at home to Valencia this weekend. Whilst many on English shores are waxing lyrical about Wayne Rooney’s credentials, Messi remains the rightful bearer of the title ‘World’s Greatest Player’. He is priced at 4.3 (100/30) to get the first goal of the night and 1.8 (4/5) to get on the score sheet at any time with Befair. Much like Rooney it would be a fool who opposes a player of such talent whilst he is in such imperious form.
With Barcelona at the incredibly short price of 1.25 (1/4) it is not a price that I could advocate piling into in such a high quality tournament; goals betting should provide a more profitable line of attack. Odds of 2.4 (11/8) on over 3.5 goals may not be so appealing at first glance but when bearing in mind the mentality with which Stuttgart must approach this game it becomes a lot more tempting. I also like the look of both teams to score at 2.1 (11/10) also with Betfair mainly based on the fact that Barca have kept just two clean sheets in seven games.
I expect this to be a very open game from the offset and those backing goals could be counting their winnings long before the final whistle sounds.
