Barclays Classic Golf Betting Preview
After last weeks fantastic US Open, it's back to the regular tour in Upstate New York. The event has a record purse and always attracts a strong field. The course is only 6839 yds long so there is no advantage to the big hitters. It is very hilly and the rough is very penal. To play well here you have to be straight off the tee. One of the favourites this week has to be Sergio Garcia. He won on Tour two weeks ago, he had a very good US Open, and more importantly he is a two time winner of the event here. He is the defending champion and at 7/1 seems a good bet. The actual favourite is Vijay Singh at 11/2, who also has a good record here. He won his first PGA Tour event and always seems to be in contention. If the putter clicks he could walk away with this. Others who love this event are Brad Faxon and Fred Couples. Faxon's record here is awesome, he just loves playing Westchester. At 80/1 never rule him out of the equation. Couples also loves the place, having eight top ten finishes here. He's 33's to win it, and 11/4 to finish in the Top Ten. Other players to look out for include Tim Clark at 28/1. He played well last week at Pinehurst and is a good tee to green man. K J Choi played well at the US Open, but the weekend was disappointing. He could easily bounce back and he's also 28's. New Yorker Rocco Mediate at 150's looks very big and Kenny Perry always seems to play the tough courses well. At 20's you'll get a good run for your money.Get a free bet on the golf with Stan James!
