BARCLAY'S SINGAPORE OPEN BETTING TIPS
The course at the upcoming Barclay's Singapore Open is said to be one of the most difficult on the world circuit and a number of top golfers are altering tactics and switching up their games in an attempt to get an edge in the upcoming $5 million tournament. Phil Mickelson, current world #3 after Sergio Garcia, has brought a special putter specifically for this course and took an extra training session with his coach as he attempts to grind out a victory amongst the tight fairways and numerous water hazards. Defending Singapore Open champion Angel Cabrera will be in attendance along with Australia's Adam Scott. Much of the betting revolves around the weather conditions with many players believing a wetter course would suit their playing style and give them an additional edge. Currently, it has been raining in Singapore for a few days and forecasts show that the rain may well continue. This could play into Mickelson's favour, so keep an eye on the skies if you're looking to back big Phil. All Eyes on HarringtonAnother one to keep an eye on is Padraig Harrington, who has had a supremely encouraging 2008 and is looking to finish the season with a bang in Singapore. Harrington is in a rich vein of form, having won both the British Open and the U.S PGA Championship this season. Another interesting quirk to remember, especially during day 2, is the fact that 18 out of the top 20 Asian Tour players will be in attendance and could very well put in a solid performance on home turf. I would say wait until the 2nd day before putting any significant money down on this tournament. If you don't see a bunch of unrecognizable names at the top of the leader board, take a strong look at Harrington and Mickelson for the win.
