BAYERN MUNICH VS INTER MILAN 2010 CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL LATEST BETTING TIPS
It has been a recurring theme throughout this competition but Jose Mourinho will once again come up against a familiar face in the final of the Champions League. Having seen off old employers Chelsea and Barcelona on route he will now go head to head with Louis van Gaal in an attempt to win his second Champions League trophy as a manager.
It was van Gaal who first gave Mourniho enhanced coaching responsibilities when the two worked at Barcelona together. They won consecutive La Liga titles in the Dutchman’s first two years as coach and there is a great deal of mutual respect between the two. All of which will be put firmly to one side on Saturday evening.
It is difficult to make a case against Inter Milan who have been tactically brilliant throughout this tournament, executing Mourinho’s best laid plans down to the most intricate of details. After halting the Barcelona juggernaut it is hard to see why they won’t be able to do the same against Bayern Munich.
However, there is good reason to believe that they will pose a greater threat to Inter than Barcelona ultimately did. Whilst van Gaal has Bayern playing attacking and positive football, there is not the same emphasis on possession and short passing as what Barcelona have. The lack of a Plan B was Barca’s downfall but this is not a young, slightly naive, manager that we are talking about, van Gaal is a master of his art.
Inter are 1.65 (4/6) on Betfair to lift the trophy whilst Bayern are available to back at 2.5 (6/4).
A lot will depend on the two midfield Dutchmen. Wesley Senijder pulls the strings in the Inter Milan midfield whilst Arjen Robben has been devastating down the flanks for the German champions. If either of these players can take the game by the scruff of the neck then it will be they who have the advantage. Sneijder is 10/1 with Bet365 to open the scoring here and Robben can be backed at 7/1 with the same bookmaker.
With neither side wanting to give anything away early on we can expect a cagey opening and few players being committed forward by either team. This could make for a dull spectacle for the neutral fan, but what better way to offset that than by having a little flutter? Back the Half-Time score to be 0-0 at 2.64 (13/8) with Betfair and also the second half to have the most goals at 2.1 (11/10).
