BAYERN MUNICH VS LYON LIVE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 2010 BETTING TIPS

Plenty of action and excitement set to unfold in the next few minutes as we’re just a short-time away from kick-off in this widely-anticipated 2010 Champions League fixture! I have a feeling that, based on the odds, Bayern Munich are overlaid a bit here with an odds-on price of 4/6 to win the opening fixture of the two-legged tie. The draw is listed by Paddy Power at 11/4 while Lyon pays out at 4/1.

In regards of outright qualification, Paddy Power seems to think that Bayern are even stronger favourites with a 4/7 price. Lyon are a slim 5/4 to go through to the next stage and this more or less pre-supposes that Lyon will have a very strong performance in the second leg. Personally, I think Lyon are under-rated and are capable of giving any team a game.
The live betting market at Paddy Power is always busy and we expect some interesting bets to be available today. I think that a pre-match bet on Bayern Munich is foolish unless you are absolutely sure that they are going to score first and hold the lead. They will be less dangerous from set-pieces than Lyon will be and I think that, in terms of defensive organization, Lyon have the big edge.
I think the opening 45 minuets are crucial here and if Lyon can keep their opponents off the scoresheet than they are in pole position for the win here. Bayern have a tendency to get out of the game and then hit back quickly with two or three good minutes that produce results. I’ve been up front about the fact that Bayern Munich have been riding their luck for most of the tournament and tend to rely on favourable refereeing and the odd moment of brilliance from a star player who has underwhelmed up to that point.
If Bayern Munich concede an early goal here- they are in very big trouble and not just because of the away goal rule, but because I think they will have a harder time breaking down Lyon than they did with Manchester United.
I think that Kim Kallstrom is likely your wildcard here and a good performance from the Swede will definitely bode well for the French side. Keep your eyes on Lyon’s price if there are no goals scored before the 30 minute mark as it will likely start to drop. 4/1 on Lyon is excellent value and they may offer up a bit less going forward, but have a lot more going on at the back.
