Berbatov sights set on move away from Spurs?
With news that Martin Jol learnt his fate by text message and that player unrest is at an all-time high at White Hart Lane, it has not been a great start to the Premier League season for Tottenham. However it could be about to get even worse with the news that star striker Dimitar Berbatov is being priced up for a move in the January transfer window. Berbatov is now odds on to leave Tottenham at the turn of the year when the transfer window reopens, according to Ladbrokes. The Unsettled Bulgarian is said to have agreed a deal to leave the club if they don't qualify for the Champions League and rumour has it that when Jol addresed the players after the loss to Getafe and told them he was leaving Berbatov hugged his manger and said that both of them deserved to be at a bigger club. Ladbrokes were 5/6 about him remaining in North London at the Premier League strugglers and the same about him leaving early in the new year. But they have now gone 1/2 that he departs, despite recently agreeing a pay rise to £60,000 per week, and 6/4 that he stays and offer 10/3 about his destination being Premier League champions Manchester United, for whom he almost signed in August. Juande Ramos will try to persuade the former Bayer Leverkusen star to stick around at White Hart Lane and build on the Premier League form that made him such a start in his first season in English football. But Ladbrokes make the former Sevilla coach odds against to last longer than the 1,085 days his Dutch predecessor spent in charge. Jol is 1/2 and Ramos 6/4 in the match bet. Shaun Wright Phillips is 9/2 to return to Manchester City in January, 4/7 to remain at Chelsea and 9/4 to be elsewhere.
