BET365 2009 INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS PART ONE
The 2009 kick-off of the Indian Premier League has undergone reschedulings, bureaucratic delays, security controversy and then an all-out relocation halfway across the world. Needless to say, this year's tournament has a lot to live up to. Luckily, I think we're in for an absolutely sublime six weeks of top quality twenty20. As it currently stands, the Delhi Daredevils are the slim favourites at 7/2. Boasting the likes of Virender Sehwag, Gautum Gambhir and the English tandem of Owais Shah and Paul Collingwood- you can expect some big hitting here. They've also goat AB De Villiers and their bowling line-up has lots of contrast. Glenn McGrath, Daniel Vettori and Amit Mishra should form a very intriguing attack. The next best poised team is Chennai Super Kings at 4/1. I'm very interested to see how batsmen cope with a bowling line up including Muttiah Muralitharan, Makhaya Ntini and Andrew Flintoff. Mahendra Singh Dhoni captains the side which also includes Michael Hussey, Matthew Hayden and Abbie Morkel. Not all players will be available for every game, but I think they should be able to do plenty of damage with their squad. Mumbai Indians are sitting at 11/2 and I fancy them significantly. I think they've got the right blend of players, but they've also got players who excel at the twenty20 format. Chief among them is Graham Napier who is finally getting his chance on the big stage. This team has really good balance spread through out its batting and bowling lineups. JP Duminy and Sachin Tendulkar lead the batting order while Zaheer Khan and Harbhajan Singh will be doing the bulk of the bowling. Kings XI Punjab sit at a straight 6/1 and they boast a really strong Australian core to the team in addition to England's Ravi Bopara. Shaun Marsh and Simon Katich are the stand-out batsmen for me while Ravi Bopara can get it done as well. Brett Lee, Burt Cockley and Yusuf Abdullah are also strong bowlers. Yuvraj Singh captains the side and he will certainly have plenty to say over the course of the tournament. You can back teams to win each-way for the outright title on places 1/2 at 1/3 of the odds, effectively backing the team to reach the final.
