BET365 2009 INDIAN PREMIER LEAGUE BETTING TIPS PART TWO
The Kolkata Knight Riders are listed at a relatively enticing price of 13/2 and I've got a feeling that they could certainly factor into the equation come the end of the season. They have lots of really solid attack featuring the gangly likes of Ishant Sharma. They have the smallest amount of specialist batsmen with Brad Hodge being the only real stand-out in my eyes. They boast a solid cadre of all-rounders with the in-form Chris Gayle, Sourav Ganguly and David Hussey being the immediate stand-outs.They've also got Brendon McCullum and you have to give a second look to nearly any squad that features his name on the team-sheet. In addition to Sharma, they've also got Sri Lanka's Ajantha Mendis on the roster as well. I think at 13/2 they are well-priced and despite a number of quality players, I don't consider them favourites to win, but wouldn't necessarily be surprised if I saw this team in the final. Bangalore Royal Challengers will have a lot to say this year, and they've made a real statement by signing Kevin Pietersen for an IPL record 1.5 million pounds. Not only have they added Pietersen, but they're expecting to have Rahul Dravid available in addition to Ross Taylor and New Zealand upstart Jesse Ryder. Jacques Kallis and Cameron White come in as all-rounders while the bowling attack features South Africa's Dale Steyn, Nathan Bracken and leg-spinner Anil Kumble. You'll find them with a price of 7/1 and for a team that should be able to put up some big totals, I expect that to be a solid price. Rajasthan Royals boast an incredible price considering the fact that they were last year's champions. You can back them at 8/1 and they still have last year's performers coming back with a few additions. Dimitri Mascarenhas only played a single match last year and will be back for the bulk of this season. Shane Warne is obviously the big name here and he's been joined by Morne Morkel, Shane Harwood and Shaun Tait in the attack. This is a good quality twenty20 side and I can see them being a force to be reckoned with again this season. There's some real quality on the Deccan Chargers and I find their price quite beguiling at 12/1. Their record last year wasn't that great, but I'm confident that they have the players, and the form, to turn things around this year. They've got Andrew Symonds and Ryan Harris as well as Dwayne Smith and Scott Styris listed as all-rounders with some really top batsmen available. Herschelle Gibbs, Chamara Silva and V.V.S. Laxman are all world-class players. The bowling attack is also interesting with R.P. Singh and Fidel Edwards catching my eye right away. S.M. Shoaib and Chaminda Vaas should make things interesting as well.
