The Bet365 Charlie Hall Chase is happening this Saturday at Wetherby and bookmakers have already placed War of Attrition as the favourite to take home the coveted National Hunt Trophy. After having spent the better part of the last two years on the sidelines, War of Attrition's trainer Mouse Morris has entered the 2006 Cheltenham Gold Cup Winner in the upcoming Grade Two chase.
A total of 13 horses are expected to take part in the race, with Air Force One considered to be another probable challenger.
Questions Remain
There are still some punters (and rival trainers) wondering whether War of Attrition will actually wind up racing after all, with Mouse Morris insisting that the decision could be a late one, pending the turf quality.
Air Force One's trainer, Charlie Mann stated that this race could be a very important step for his horse in preparation for the Hennessy Cognac Gold Cup which runs on November 29 at Newbury.
Will First Run Be Enough?
In an interview, Mann declared "He looks great and we are looking forward to getting him to a racecourse. He sometimes needs his first run but I would still be looking to seeing him run well on his seasonal debut."
