BETFAIR 2009 EUROVISION BETTING TIPS
Norway's Alexander Rybak continues to absolutely dominate the Eurovision 2009 betting markets on Betfair. Currently, the Norwegian singing sensation has propelled his country to the top of the Betfair markets ahead of competitors Greece and Turkey by quite a margin. Norway sits at 2.58 while Greece is listed at 9.8 and Turkey at 11.5. Malta comes in just behind and is one of my value bets, especially for a top 4 finish. Malta is 28.0 for the outright win. France is listed at 38.0 while Iceland sits at 46.0. Estonia is available to be backed at a price of 34.0. Azerbaijan and Sweden are also listed at decent prices with odds of 24.0 and 26.0, respectively. The United Kingdom is listed at a straight 30.0. The Top 4 finisher market is a much more lucrative betting opportunity, because I'm not sure if any country has somebody who will rival Rybak. Malta can be backed at 3.75 and that's a really solid bet in my opinion. Greece is at 2.32 and Turkey is at 2.42. Effectively, the betting markets predict a top four of Norway, Greece, Turkey and Malta. Sweden and Finland are strong contenders to break the top four group with odds of 4.8 and 5.5, respectively. Nordic countries always do well in this competition and we could see that skew the votes. I consider Malta especially vulnerable due to its small population base. If you're looking to cash in on the Eurovision betting markets, get in now and back Norway immediately because the price will only go down. Alexander Rybak isn't a value bet at this point, but I suggest backing him early and then hedging your bets as you see fit.
