BETFAIR 2009 EUROVISION BETTING UPDATE

Alexander Rybak continues to dominate the betting markets as Norway stands out as the clear favourite in the 2009 Eurovision outright win betting market. Currently laid at nearly 3.0, Norway has hung onto its lead for several months now and only Greece's Sakis Rouvas and Turkey's Hadise Aç?kgöz are really the only entries with a chance of besting Rybak for the 2009 Eurovision title. Greece is at 7.6 while Turkey can be backed at 10.5. We all know that things change once the competition itself actually starts, but with so much confidence in the Norwegian singing sensations star-power potential and overall stellar performances, I'm confident that his odds will shorten considerably once he actually performs. There are also rumours that burlesque superstar Dita von Teese will appear on stage with German Eurovision representatives Alex Swings Oscar Sings! I'm not really 100% how that will affect things, but you have to admit it probably won't hurt Germany's chances one bit. Deutschland's representatives are available to be backed at 55.0. Malta's Chiara has seen her price rise to nearly 30.0. Bosnia and Herzegovina's Regina has seen a bit of a price drop with 27.0 being the current odds. Betfair also has markets available for the top 4 finishers and the top 10 finishers. There isn't a huge amount of value on the top 10 places, you're lucky to get even-money on any probable finisher, but I do fancy a punt on the top 4. You're more likely to get paid out on these ones and everybody is above evens except for Norway's Alexander Rybak who is listed at 1.31. Greece can be backed to reach the top 4 at 2.04 while Turkey's price is listed at 3.05. Azerbaijan's entry Aysel & Arash are also available at a competitive price of 4.2. The UK Entry, Jade Ewen, is decently priced for a top 4 finish as well with odds of 4.8. PREDICTION:If you're betting on Rybak (the clear favourites) get in there and bet on him now because he will not be listed at a higher price at any other point in the competition. Take Turkey and Greece for a top 4 finish and then wait until the performances start before you back that fourth entry.
