Big Europa League Night for Liverpool and Manchester City
- By Allan Pederson on November 4, 2010 17:13 GMTWe’ve got two English clubs set to kick off this evening in the Europa League, and things are looking rosier for Manchester City than they are for Liverpool; though both teams are currently topping their respective groups.
Liverpool vs Napoli
Liverpool are getting the edge from the bookmakers against Napoli tonight and they’ll be looking to get all three points today as Napoli are really the only side in their group that has a chance of catching them.
Roy Hodgson’s men definitely have a light at the end of the tunnel visible at the moment and you just wonder whether they’ll be a bit distracted as Chelsea on Sunday will be in the back of their brains during this one. Hodgson’s lineup will make for interesting viewing.
If he starts, and he likely will, Fernando Torres is likely your man to watch and he’s priced at 2.2 to score at any point.
Lech Poznan vs Man City
City definitely taught Lech Poznan a lesson last time out with Emmanuel Adebayor taking the plaudits. City are away this evening and will be without the services of Carlos Tevez and that definitely proved to be a complication last weekend. City trade at a 1.66 price with the bookies and you reckon that they can get the result here provided they don’t concede the first goal.
Adam Johnson will likely be called upon to have a big match and the main story here looks like the return of Mario Balotelli to the fold. Balotelli was able to chip in with a European goal before he was out with his injury so he’ll likely be looking to make a big statement today. You can back the Italian at 2.37 to score anytime.
City and Liverpool on a double are paying out a very tidy 2.98!
