BLACKPOOL VS CARDIFF 2010 CHAMPIONSHIP PLAY OFF BETTING TIPS

How ironic that the richest game in football should take place on the same day as the biggest game in club football. Worth a potential £90million to the victors there is no doubting that there is a lot at stake in this The Championship play-off final, skill and tactics will have an effect on the outcome but both bottle and nerve will be the most important factors.

Cardiff City are bidding to become the first non-English team to compete in the Premier League and with a massive unpaid tax bill hanging over their head they certainly need to win this more than their opponents. Everything from mid-season onwards has been a bonus for Blackpool, firstly sneaking into the play-offs and now making it to the final are achievements beyond the wildest dreams of The Seasiders. Can they make that final step into the Promised Land, or will Cardiff prevail?
The two sides have met twice already in the regular season and on both occasions the game ended in a 1-1 score line. The Bluebirds taking the lead early on in both fixtures before Blackpool equalised on the stroke of half-time. A third 1-1 finish between the two teams is available to back at odds of 7.2 (6/1) on Betfair.
Any draw would obviously send the game into extra-time and perhaps penalties if a winner cannot be found in the additional 30 minutes. Cardiff may have the upper hand should it come down to shots from 12-yards out; they are in the final courtesy of a penalty shootout victory over Leicester when they scored all four of their spot kicks. Odds of 13.0 (12/1) are available on Cardiff claiming a place in the Premier League via a penalty shootout.
Given Blackpool’s heroics to date it would be foolish to write them off going all the way, but it is also accurate that they are made outsiders in the betting at 6/5 with Stan James. Cardiff have been strong both at home and away from  The Cardiff City Stadium, with only promoted teams Newcastle and West Brom able to boast a better points return from away games throughout the regular season.
At 4/6 Cardiff are the side to back for Premier League football next season.
