Boat Race: 130/1 Anniversary Dead Heat - Cambridge Clear Favourites In £million Boat Race?
Bookmakers William Hill can report early money for Cambridge to win the boat race on Saturday and rate them as the 4/7 favourites to beat Oxford who are offered at 5/4. 2007 is the 130th anniversary of the dead heat and Hill's offer 130/1 that history repeats itself. 2006 saw a record turnover for the Boat Race and Hill's confidently predict an industry turnover of a million pounds plus in 2007. Hill's odds suggest an emphatic winning margin and make between two and three lengths their 11/8 favourite and offer 7/4 over three lengths and 2/1 for two or less. Hills also offer 25/1 that either or both boats sink and 8/1 that either side beat the record time. "An excellent forecast coupled with the fact that Oxford continue to reshuffle their crew has caused punters to lump on Cambridge to win and on paper they look very hard to beat," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
