BOLTON WANDERERS BETTING TIPS 2009/10 PREMIER LEAGUE
Never one of the flashiest teams in the English Premier League, but Bolton Wanderers are the definition of a middling Premier League club. They've solidified their spot in the top flight through a combination of tactical acumen, hard work and staying bloody organized. Bolton don't look like they're going to be shaping up for a relegation dogfight, so this season should be about pushing into the top half and winning games away from home. The venerable Jussi Jaaskelainen is a quality goalkeeper who could play anywhere else if he wanted to, but he's made Bolton his castle. Kevin Davies will continue as captain this year and I can see lots coming from his inspired leadership. Zat Knight and Sean Davis are both quality players while Ricardo Vaz Te continues to provide the pace. Gavin McCann is a solid midfield anchorman and I think Bolton have enough to compete this year. They are 1/12 to stay up, so I can't see much value there, and should they improve on their 13th place finish you're looking at a 9/4 price. The bookies favour them to finish a bit lower at 8/15 but a 13th spot for the 2nd year running will pay out at 5/1. Bolton are an enticing 5/2 to finish in the top half this year and with some organized play and maybe a striker or two, they'll be able to pull this one off. Surely Kevin Davies can't score all the goals by himself, so we'll need players like Vaz Te and Johan Elmander to really step up and produce quality performances week in and week out.
