Boxing Day Premier League Betting Odds PT 1

After another big weekend of English Premier League action we are already pondering the potential results of the Boxing Day fixtures which will unfold in just a few days as the holiday fixture list always separates the men from the boys. It was workmanlike victories for one of the two sides offering up the biggest challenge for the Premier League title, as Manchester City were able to put together a nice performance and score an easy win at home with some of their better players hitting the score sheet.

City and Chelsea are now level on points at the top of the league with Chelsea still having to face Stoke City in the Monday fixture of the English Premier League. There is a lot to like about the Potters chances here and you can bank that this one won’t be a walk in the park like some other fixtures.

Facing off against Stoke at their ground is always a footballing litmus test - even Barcelona couldn’t get the job done. Chelsea must win this match to keep some space between them and Manchester City, who now sit level on points with Jose Mourinho’s side.

The big story was West Ham putting together another big victory and now sitting in fourth place, just a solitary point behind Manchester United. Things seem to be going great guns for Sam Allardyce at West Ham, who was on the verge of being sacked earlier on this season after some underwhelming performances over the past year or so.

United were held to a tame draw by Aston Villa in a rather shocking performance by the Red Devils. Despite United getting about 25 minutes of the Villains at 10 men following the dismissal of Gabriel Agbonlahor, they were unable to muster up more than a single goal which was scored by Radamel Falcao in his first start in eons.

It is back to the drawing board for Louis Van Gaal’s men and you reckon that they will be tweaking their line-up significantly for the next match which will unfold against upstart contenders Newcastle United. Surely Marouane Fellaini will be back in central midfield - United definitely missed his physical presence and ability to win balls on the ground and in the air during their match against Villa.
