BRAZIL VS CHILE STARTING LINEUPS AND WORLD CUP BETTING PREDICTIONS
We're just a short time away from kick-off in today's final World Cup fixture with tournament favourites Brazil facing off against upstart neighbours Chile. There's a bit of an imbalance, personnel-wise, but both teams are capable of winning the fixture- I'm very confident of that.
The issue is that Chile will be relying on Brazil to play a poor match. If Brazil don't come out and give 100% then they could very well get beaten here. I've got a lot of time for Dunga and his side, but there are no easy games at this point in time.
I think if you're looking to back Chile, betting on extra-time is probably your best bet. I think its a reasonable occurence, especially if the scoreline stays relatively low.
A higher-scoring affair definitely favours Brazil while a lower-scoring match gives Chile a lot more room in which to operate. If they can keep the first 45 minutes scoreless then they will definitely be in this one.
Here are the starting lineups for today's fixture:
Brazil: 1-Julio Cesar; 2-Maicon, 3-Lucio, 4-Juan, 6-Michel Bastos, 18-Ramires, 8-Gilberto Silva, 13-Dani Alves, 10-Kaka, 11-Robinho, 9-Luis Fabiano.
Chile: 1-Claudio Bravo; 4-Mauricio Isla, 5-Pablo Contreras, 2-Ismael Fuentes, 8-Arturo Vidal, 11-Mark Gonzalez, 6-Carlos Carmona, 18-Gonzalo Jara, 9-Humberto Suazo, 15-Jean Beausejour, 7-Alexis Sanchez.
Popular bookmaker Bet365 has priced Brazil as the 1.53 favourites to win the match with the draw available at 4.0 and Chile listed at a 7.0 price. This is only for the 90 minute victory so if you are looking to back a team by extra-time or penalties then you will have to go with the outright qualification odds of 1.18 for Brazil and 4.5 for the Chileans.
Brazil to dominate the game and take both legs of the half-time/full-time market is well-priced at 2.4. When there's that much distance between an outright winner and winning both halves then its certainly something to take advantage of.
The over/under on total goals is set at 2.5 and it is priced at 1.9 in each direction. You can also back Brazil on a (-1.0) handicap at a 2.6 price.
Luis Fabiano is odds-on to score with a 1.9 price while Robinho is listed at 2.4. Nilmar and Grafite are right behind Robinho, both priced at 2.5. Kaka is trading at 2.62 while Julio Baptista rewards at 3.4. Chile will be looking to Humberto Suazo and Alexis Sanchez at 3.75 and 4.5, respectively.
