CANADA VS SWITZERLAND 2010 WINTER OLYMPICS LAST MINUTE ODDS AND TIPS

The betting volume is being ratcheted up by the minute as Canada look set to avenge a 2006 upset in Turin. The Swiss gave the Americans trouble in their opening fixture and the USA was only able to win by a 3-1 margin. You’ll find the Swiss paying a very hefty price should they be able to pull off the result here, but based on Canada’s opening match against Norway, many expect the home side to absolutely dominate here.
After examining the odds on Betfair, you’ll fin that Canada is heavily-favoured to win and heavily-favoured to score a fair amount of goals.
The big payoff is basically betting against the Swiss to score any goals and Canada to score quite a few. The over/under is at (-4.5) and Canada is sitting at a hefty 2.22. That’s quality odds on a team that is 1.08 to win the match. Switzerland (+4.5) is trading at 1.81, so Canadian fans expecting a good performance will likely find this one of their more lucrative markets. The Canadians (-5.5) are listed at 2.74 and I think Canada are more than able to score 6 goals in this one, so they will have to focus on keeping the Swiss off the scoreboard.
In terms of outright goals scored, the over/under is at 5.5 with the over paying 1.38 and the under paying 3.45.
Examining the 1st period match odds, you’ll see that Canada trades at a slim 1.28 while the Swiss are available at 12.5. The draw pays out at 5.0 and you would have gotten paid on that if you’d have backed it for the Norway game. Personally, I expect Canada to start much stronger this time around. The over/under for the first period is 1.5 goals and the over pays 1.55 while the under is trading at 2.32.
The revenge issue is a big part of it and the Canadians are going to be playing in front of their homes fans so you can bank on them wanting to post a big tally in this fixture. Personally, I would recommend never underestimating the Swiss, but based on the last 2/3’s of the previous match against Norway, I think Canada should be able to get things taken care of here. I’m backing Iginla to have another massive game.
Remember that Betfair is offering up live in-play trading on this fixture and I expect plenty of excellent live betting opportunities here.
