CARLING CUP BETTING TIPS FOR TUESDAY
We've got some mid-week cup action for you and William Hill have some quality odds out there for all the Carling Cup clashes. In terms of the outright trophy, Chelsea are the 9/2 favourites to win with Manchester United and Manchester City both listed at 11/2 to secure the 2nd tier title. There are a few interesting matches taking place on Tuesday with Arsenal vs West Brom looking like another run-out for Wenger's fledglings while Leeds vs Liverpool sounds like an awesome clash- 9 years ago. I actually think Barnsley vs Burnley is going to be an absolute cracker. In the Arsenal vs West Brom match-up, we've got the Gunners listed as the 2/5 favourites with the Baggies going into the match with a 5/1 price. The draw is 3/1, but I fancy Arsenal to pull this one off. I think there will be more quality on display than usual in these matches with Arsene Wenger likely to mix-in some of his more established players to his crews of 16 and 17 year-olds he routinely sends out in fixtures like this one. Barnsley vs Burnley looks interesting and the Premiership side are the 23/20 favourites, but Barnsley have become something of a giant killer in recent years and their 17/10 price is pretty short for a Championship/Premiership encounter. I think they're well in this and the 12/5 draw could be your best bet. Leeds vs Liverpool should be an interesting throw-back to the earlier part of the decade with the classiest club in League 1 set to take on Steven Gerrard and Co. I think it would be a massive scalp for Leeds (14/5) to take the victory. I find Liverpool just have too much quality and I think their 8/11 price is a bargain. I am also backing Carlisle (14/5) to beat Portsmouth simply because Portsmouth (8/11) are utter crap this season. I will also opt for Nottingham Forest (13/8) over Blackburn. Bolton vs West Ham is a bit of a toss-up, but I think the Hammers will dispose of Wanderers late in the match. Tuesday's Carling Cup Accumulator: Arsenal x Draw x Liverpool x Carlisle x Nottingham Forest x West Ham = 212/1
