CARLING CUP- SEPT 21- NEWS, ODDS AND PREDICTIONS

The Third Round of the Carling Cup kicks off tonight with some rather one sided mismatches, coupled with some absolute crackers.
First up, Everton make their way to Brentford.
David Moyes's side, who have managed just two points from their opening five league games, and are yet to score away from home, will consider this game a done deal.
Everton should win this one at a canter with Paddypower offering a nice bet at 8/15 against Brentford's 5/1
Burnley play host to Bolton which should be a thrilling affair. Both teams are pretty evenly matched with both harbouring a solid defence, as well as attack.
Nine months after walking out on Burnley to join local rivals Bolton, Owen Coyle can expect a hostile reception on his return to Turf Moor.
The Premiership outfit are thin favourites to win away at 6/4.
Stoke play host to poor travellers Fulham, in what could be a rather entertaining tussle.
Last season, Stoke were knocked out by struggling Portsmouth in the Potters' first match against a Premier League team in 16 ties. Fulham will be hoping that this top-flight hoodoo continues as they seek to build upon their win over Stoke's neighbours Port Vale 6-0 in the second round
Fulham might be a good bet here as they are rated as underdogs at 21/10. A draw is also a likely scenario with some decent money to be made at 9/4
Another Premiership clash is evident when West Ham travels North to tackle Sunderland.
Sunderland are clear favourites in this one, with West Ham struggling for form having made their worst ever start to the Premier League season, despite their impressive draw on the weekend.
This is a tough one to call in that West Ham are unbeaten against the Black Cats in their last four encounters, and that Sunderland has only lost once this season.
Sunderland are clear favourites at 3/4, to West Ham's 7/2. A loss here could very well lead to the calling of a review of current manager Avram Grant
Birmingham host MK Dons as dead on favourites to take this one.
The League One high-fliers, who surrendered their unbeaten home record when they were held 1-1 by Rochdale on Saturday, have struggled on the road.
Some respite is necessary, however, in that the Dons will be looking for back-to-back Premier League scalps, after eliminating Blackpool 4-3 after extra time in the second round.
Birmingham are odds on at 4/9
Without a doubt the game of the day- Tottenham vs. Arsenal
In arguably the most bitter rivalry in English football, Arsenal makes the short trip to Stamford Bridge to challenge a Spurs side on the rise.
These two clubs recently met in the semi finals of the League Cup in consecutive seasons, with Arsenal winning in 2007, before Tottenham pulled off one of their finest-ever results by winning the second leg 5-1 in 2008.
This is a game filled with class; however is traditionally the tournament whereby Arsene Wenger assesses his younger talents.
As such, Spurs are slim favourites to win this one at 6/5, with Arsenal a lucrative look-in at 2/1
Tonight is jam packed action, with most definitely the pick of the lot being the Premier League clashes.
If you are to bet on sure thing winners tonight...Everton and Birmingham are as good as it gets
