CARLING CUP TUESDAY BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS
We’ve got a solid line-up of Carling Cup action kicking off on Tuesday and we’ll be offering up some previews and insight here for tomorrow’s biggest fixtures. There are some quality prices on offer and the lopsided nature of some of these contests mean that accumulators and parlay bets are a great betting opportunity for Tuesday’s Carling Cup football.
Birmingham vs Milton Keynes Dons looks a one-sided affair with Alex McLeish’s side available at a 2/5 price with popular bookmaker Bet365. The Dons are trading at a lengthy 7/1 while the draw is priced at 10/3, but you reckon that Birmingham will need to produce a genuinely woeful performance to blow this one.
Brentford vs Everton will likely give the Toffees that win they’ve been craving, albeit one that won’t help their Premier League status one bit. The host side are an 11/2 price while David Moyes’ side are the 8/15 favourites. One suspects that a few cheeky bets will be placed against Everton, but they should stroll to victory here.
Burnley vs Bolton looks absolutely dead-even with the bookmakers pricing both sides at 13/8 for the win, but the 9/4 draw is probably your best bet. On the surface, Bolton are playing better stuff but this is certainly one of the trickier fixtures of the day.
Millwall vs Ipswich is another close one, but Millwall are getting a distinct edge from the bookies with a 5/4 price placing them well ahead of the Tractor Boys who are listed at an 11/5 price. You can grab a draw at a 9/4 price tag and that is a very real possibility here.
Peterborough vs Swansea also looks to be a bit of a toss-up and you reckon that his one favours the in-play punters. Peterborough trade at 9/5 while Swansea are available at a 6/4 price tag. The draw is listed at 9/4 as well.
Portsmouth vs Leicester is an interesting affair and you’d really have to back the Foxes in this one with Pompey being the basement dwellers in the Championship at the moment. Pompey trade at 6/4 while Leicester can be backed at 9/5. The draw is, again, priced at 9/4. This is a good time to bet against Portsmouth.
Stoke vs Fulham should be a fascinating affair and both sides are definitely capable of winning this one. The Potters get the edge from the bookies with a 6/5 price while Fulham can be backed at 9/4. The draw is trading at 23/10 and this sort of feels like a 1-1 match doesn’t it?
Sunderland vs West Ham should see the Black Cats come into this one with plenty of verve, having taken a point off Arsenal in the final seconds at the weekend. Things seem to be going from bad to worse for the Hammers and they are the 7/2 longshots here. A 4/5 price is listed for Darren Bent & Co. while the 5/2 draw may attract some optimistic Hammers fans.
Tottenham vs Arsenal is the key fixture of the day and will likely see the bulk of the betting volume. Spurs are the 13/10 favourites with Bet365 while Arsenal can be backed at a very solid 21/10. The draw is listed at 23/10 but you reckon that Arsenal are the value play with Spurs being absolutely all over the place lately. The first goal here is absolutely crucial.
Wolves vs Notts County looks to be one of the biggest mismatches of the evening as Mick McCarthy’s men trade at a 4/9 price. Notts County is listed at 6/1 with the draw available at a 10/3 price tag. You know where this one is going.
Anybody looking for a Carling Cup accumulator should back Birmingham x Everton x Leicester x Sunderland x Arsenal x Wolves at around 47/1 with Bet365.
