Celeb Big Brother 8 Betting tips
In keeping with the Great British public's eclectic taste in Big Brother housemates, 44-year-old Cleo Rocos, who is available at 8/1 with VCbet at the time of writing, is taken to emerge victorious in the fifth instalment of Celebrity Big Brother. Cleo, who made a name for herself when playing Miss Whiplash in the hugely popular Kenny Everett Show in the 1980s, is unlike any former housemates and it's that uniqueness which will stand her in good stead for the perils ahead - and ultimately enable her to achieve longevity in the house. A quirky sophisticat, Miss Rocos's first job was, bizarrely enough, as a professional skateboarder. In more recent exchanges, she has appeared in the Channel 4 series Bo! In The USA, produced The Seven Year Itch in the West End and is currently writing a new comedy series. In essence, she's quite rounded, and indeed talented. Although the male species have a sound record in Celebrity and non-Celeb versions of this ever-popular show, it's hard to envisage any of the male housemates in this series having the requisite edge to go the distance. Dirk Benedict and Leo Sayer are both affable and will probably make more friends than enemies, but it's not hard to foresee Ian Watkins, the only other male prominent in the betting, getting on peoples nerves. Meanwhile, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty, who reputedly bagged a cool £300,000 for her troubles, and Danielle Lloyd could easily become in a pouting war. The latter won Miss Great Britain in February last year but was later stripped of the title after it became known that she was in a relationship with footballer Teddy Sherringham, who was one of the judges. One suspects that the claws could be out in the battle for aesthetic supremacy. Former S Club 7 singer Jo O'Meara is worthy of her place at the head of the market. She is essentially a nice girl - not an archetypal pop princess by any stretch of the imagination - and her down-to-earth persona will win her many fans. There is a chance, though, that she'll be too nice for many viewers, who will be looking for a bit more in the way of entertainment value, something which they'll get with Cleo. Despite the fact that stranger things have happened, it would come as something of a shock if either or the remaining quartet - namely Carole Malone, Donny Tourette, Jermaine Jackson and Ken Russell - were to make a huge impact in the house. Donny, who is best know for dating Bob Geldof's daughter Peaches, is likely to be the most vocal of the four in question, but he'll probably be more aggravating than endearing. Verdict - 2pts Cleo Rocos @ 8/1 (VCBet)
