The second leg of the Champions League quarter finals is finally upon us and we’ve got a pair of high-quality contests set to unfold in Europe this evening. While at least one of the games appears to be done and dusted, there could definitely be a few interesting swings in the offering here and the bookmakers will likely be doing brisk business on the match results as opposed to the outright qualification wagering – where things are particularly one-sided.

Real Madrid were able to really get the better of Borussia Dortmund last time out and produced a dominant display that many observers feel effectively ended the tie. There was much to enjoy about the tandem of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale tearing apart their German opposition and you have to wonder whether they will be able to turn on the style in a similar fashion here.
With the price literally sitting at 1/100 to progress to the next stage of the competition, Real Madrid are virtually guaranteed passage through to the semi-final. It would likely take the greatest Champions League performance of all time to reverse this deficit, though we all must admit that stranger things have happened.
Look for the Spanish side at a 5/4 margin with their German counterparts available at a 19/10 price tag. The draw is available at an 11/4 price and the 90 minutes market should take the bulk of the action at this point as many will be confident that Real Madrid will be able to continue their rout of Borussia Dortmund.
Cristiano Ronaldo is a 4/5 shout to score at any point in the match and the Portuguese sensation is a 3/1 price to grab a pair of goals. He trades at an enticing 12/1 for a hatful of goals but you reckon he may not play the entire match or even necessarily start the game at all.
Gareth Bale is certainly worth a look with a 2/1 listing available for an anytime goal in this match. That’s a quality price – especially when you consider that he will be taking a fair amount of the more dangerous free kicks. Ronaldo and Bale have really emerged as a force to be reckoned with from dead ball situations with either of them capable of producing miracles from outside the box.
