Champions League Betting Preview PT 1
- By A.J. Ryder on October 20, 2020 15:09 GMTWe are finally underway with the kick off of the Champions League proper as the top clubs from all of Europe take to the pitch to provide some mid-week action for the next few months. If the way the domestic leagues are going is any indication of what to expect, we will see a lot of wide open contests and some lopsided scorelines with the lack of fans at stadiums serving as an equalizer to allow some of the smaller clubs an outside chance of grabbing a victory.

This obviously presents a great betting opportunity so some of those fixtures where you expect to see a walk-over victory could turn out to be more complicated for the big favourites.
Today’s action sees a few really exciting contests with Manchester United vs Paris Saint Germain likely being the marquee fixture. The French hosts go into the match as the favourites but they are hovering around an 11/8 price tag by the bookmakers right now before kick off. United are trading just shy of 5/1 and, if they can conjure up a good performance here then that could look like solid value.
Expect a different lineup than what you saw against Newcastle at the weekend as the United management remain under a bit of pressure - more so from the fans than from the club’s ownership. Solksjaer has pulled off some magic against PSG before but this time he will need to conjure up his team of United recruits instead of turning to Zlatan Ibrahimovic to get the result.
Juventus go into their contest against Dinamo Kiev as the odds-on favourites with a best price of around 22/23 with several bookmakers. They look to be decent value for money here and Cristiano Ronaldo is in a rich vein of form at the moment. Look for the Ukrainians at a 7/2 price to get the victory.
