Chelsea put on an excellent display, notching six past Maribor and even Didier Drogba got on the scoresheet with a penalty - ironic since he scored his final goal at Chelsea with a penalty that won them the Champions League.

The big story, however, was Bayern Munich who absolutely steamrollered their opposition and lit up the scoreboard with a massive pile of goals to steal the headlines from Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea side. The Germans look strong heading into the rest of the competition and the victory was a serious statement of intent.
The fixtures today look interesting with two English sides in action as Arsenal are the even money favourites away to Anderlecht, who trade at a 3/1 margin. The draw there trades at 13/5 and the match is definitely one that Arsenal will need to win in order to help their efforts in progressing to the next stage of the competition. Arsenal have been their usual up-and-down selves who can put together an excellent performance one day and then a sputtering ineffectuall performance the next.
It really seems to be a question of which Arsenal side shows up, but they are generally able to take care of lesser opposition like the Belgian side. You do have to wonder how much Arsenal conceding first would affect the outcome though.
Atletico Madrid are the biggest favourites of the day going into their match-up against Malmo FF as the bookmakers have them trading at a slim 1/6 price tag against the Finnish team’s lengthy 20/1 listing. The draw is a 7/1 shout but there really only looks to be one result here that’s going to happen. It’s worth remembering that this would be a good match to include on any accumulator tickets as it adds a point in value on a four-fold with minimal risk.
Bayer Leverkusen are odds-on to get the better of Zenit St Petersburg at home and their price will likely fluctuate in the hours prior to the match. They are a 19/20 price tag right now with the draw trading at a 27/10 margin. The Russian side can be backed at a 16/5 listing and there will probably be a few who take a stab at them this time.
